Michigan ranks dead last in the country in government ethics and transparency. We're working to change that and create a government that's truly of, by, and for the people.
To get there, we're taking two important transparency issues to the ballot. Our first proposal would strengthen our lobbying laws to rein in the outsized influence of corporate lobbyists in Lansing.
We’re also working to bring much-needed transparency to the state government by expanding the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), a law that allows citizens to request access to public records, to remove special carve-outs for the legislature and governor’s office.
